The bid for Seattle in 2020 won the right to host Westercon 73 in voting held at Westercon 71 in Denver. Westercon 73 will be July 2-5, 2020 at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Seattle Airport in SeaTac, Washington.
Westercon 73 initially announced as their guests of honor the following people:
- Author Guest of Honor: David Brin
- Science Guest of Honor: Ethan Siegel
- Fan Guests of Honor: Kevin Roche & Andy Trembley
Seattle’s bid received bid received 55 of the 64 ballots cast in voting held in Denver. The other votes were cast as follows: Elayne Pelz’s backyard 1, McCloud CA 1, Minneapolis in 73 1, Tonapah NV 1, No Preference 5. 30 votes (a majority of the 59 votes with a preference) were necessary to elect.
